Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and TD Bank Group present the TD Connecting Communities Concert at the Orpheum on January 10 at 8 pm

VANCOUVER AUDIENCES WILL be able to attend the symphony for free on January 10 at 8 pm as the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and TD Bank Group are offering a complimentary public performance.

The goal of the TD Connecting Communities show is to help ensure that live orchestral music is accessible to all, regardless of financial means, and to build awareness of the power of music to bring people together.

The organizations are providing a special allotment of tickets to local charities serving the Vancouver community, and more than 1,000 free tickets are now available at VancouverSymphony.ca.

The family-friendly concert will be conducted by maestro Julian Pellicano, who was recently appointed to the conducting staff of the National Ballet of Canada and who is music director and principal conductor of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. The curated program will feature classical favourites, popular pieces from a selection of movies, and more.

The TD Connecting Communities Concert is made possible through a $100,000 gift from the TD Ready Commitment. This fund also supports the free VSO School of Music community event The Path Forward, being held on June 21, curated by the VSO Indigenous Council.
